How much sinew would you say you carry? That looks to be a fair amount. But I’d imagine that’s for the moccasins which may need a fair bit of cord?
Has the antler button ever helped in a pinch?
Is that amount of thread just for the sake of carry or have you ever run out while out on the trail? I can’t imagine so but one never knows.
The sinew I carry for moccasin repair, I have no idea how much there is, but it weighs very little. The linen thread again weighs very little & does not take up much room, so as I had plenty & decided to carry plenty. No I have never run out of linen thread, mostly I have used it for clothing & oilcloth repair. Bone buttons were the most popular, so that is what I carry, but I have never needed to use one to date.
The needles can also be used for digging out splinters & sewing me up if required! The linen thread can be used as fishing line (even though I carry a couple of fishing lines), snares, suturing & tying the tops of bags, tying on a poultice etc. Keith.
